6th and 7th Grade Open House Day

NEW “OPEN HOUSE DAY” AT BECKER MIDDLE SCHOOL

Tuesday, September 8th, 2015

6th & 7th grade Conferences & Open House - 10:30 am - 6:30 pm

I am looking forward with excitement to the start of the 2015-2016 school year at Becker Middle School!  It is important that students and parents/guardians are aware that the middle school open house and orientation format has changed.  On Tuesday, September 8th, the 6th & 7th grade open house for students and parents will be held from 10:30 am - 6:30 pm.  Similar to the elementary schools’ format, parents and students will sign up (beginning Monday, Aug. 17th) for a conference via Skyward. (8th gr. orientation sign up will be via Google). In addition to meeting teachers, there will be other tasks to complete when you attend the “Open House Day” on September 8th.  I suggest families allow approximately 90 minutes to complete the open house/orientation process.  During this time, students & parents will:

• • Meet and conference with their new teacher(s)

(Pre-Scheduled Conference Time for 6th & 7th grade)

• • Attend orientation session (8th grade parents/students)

  • Bring in school supplies & obtain locker assignment

  • Have school picture taken by Lifetouch

  • Obtain Class Schedule (7th & 8th graders)

  • Finalize iPad registration process

  • Purchase PE Uniforms

  • Take care of other “business” (Emergency forms, lunch accounts, busing information, instruments, immunization forms [gr. 7 only], register for fall activities)

  • Tour the building and facilities

Parents of 6th & 7th graders will be able to start signing up online for a conference time beginning Monday, August 17th at 8:00 am. Conference times are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
