Early Childhood Screening

About Screening

The early childhood years from birth to the start of kindergarten are an important time of rapid growth and learning. Screening is recommended for all children when they reach age three and it is a state requirement for kindergarten entrance.

Screening Appointments

Last approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hour.

Check your child’s height, weight, hearing, vision and immunization record, coordination, large and small motor skills, speech, learning development, and social and emotional skills.

Involve playful activities that make it an enjoyable experience for your child, while providing valuable information to the screener. Results are immediately shared with the parent or guardian by a Becker Early Childhood Educator.

Are not a test. The purpose of the screening is to affirm a child’s development and identify any early needs for educational assistance.
