Virtual Expeditions at Becker Middle School

Students at Becker Middle School had the rare opportunity to take part in Google's new Expeditions Pioneer Program.  According to Google, "Expeditions is a virtual reality platform built for the classroom. We worked with teachers and content partners from around the world to create more than 100 engaging journeys - making it easy to immerse students in entirely new experiences."

Teachers are able to take students on a virtual adventure, showing them areas of the world that related to their respective curriculums.  Science students saw natural formations and ecosystems while social studies students saw various cultural and historical landmarks.  Teachers were able to direct students to various points of interest and then provide them information about what they were seeing while "visiting" that area.

Becker Middle School was one of only a handful of schools worldwide to be given this opportunity.  A special thanks goes to all of the teachers who made this possible and especially to Mrs. Feierabend for organizing this valuable learning experience.
