10:30 AM - 6:30 PM

Becker Middle School is gearing up for the coming year as staff prepares to welcome students and families back to school. Open house/orientation for students in grades 6,7, and 8 will be held Tuesday, September 6th from 10:30 am until 6:30 pm. Students and parents/guardians will have an opportunity to conference with their child’s grade level advisor as well as complete a number of “back to school” tasks on this day. Parents may schedule a conference via the Skyward Family Access Portal beginning Monday, August 15th, at 8:00 am or by calling the middle school office between 8 AM and 3:00 PM weekdays. If you are planning to be enrolled at BMS but are unable to attend the open house/orientation on September 6th, please contact the middle school as soon as possible. **Please note, it is recommended to use a computer when scheduling conferences rather than a smaller device such as a cell phone or iPad.

Families should allow approximately 60 minutes to complete the open house/orientation process. During this time, students & parents will:
  • Conference with the advisor at the prescheduled time (about 15 min.)
**Our schedule permits for one conference time per child & family on Sept. 6th. Additional conferences for any student will need to be scheduled with the advisor at a different time.
  • Have school picture taken by Lifetouch
  • Obtain locker assignment
  • Obtain class schedule
  • Purchase PE clothing
  • Take care of other “business” (e.g. Update emergency forms/information, deposit funds in lunch accounts, obtain busing information, visit the music department, turn in immunization forms [gr. 7 only], sign technology agreement and pay iPad deposit, register for fall activities, discuss any medical needs with the school nurse, etc.)
  • Tour the building and facilities
Families may wish to complete a number of processes before open house such as updating contact information and addresses in Skyward, completing the iPad registration, depositing funds for school lunch and breakfast, and signing up for activities via the district website. It is also helpful if parents drop off at or send 7th grade immunization records to the middle school prior to Tuesday, Sept. 6th. Completing some of these steps in advance will help minimize wait time at open house.

The middle school staff is committed to ensuring the safety and success of our students! I look forward welcoming new students and families and greeting those returning to Becker Middle School. Thank you for your involvement, support, and partnership in learning. Don’t hesitate to contact the middle school office if you need assistance.
