Liberty Paper Environmental Book Challenge

posted Apr 24, 2017, 10:04 AM by Holly Wieber
Once again, Becker Middle School would like to thank LPI (Liberty Paper) for their generosity in sponsoring the 6th grade Environmental Reading Challenge.  This year, we had terrific participation in the challenge and our kids earned some wonderful incentives (check out the cool t-shirts in the pics below!)

Forty students earned Liberty Prize bags, four students earned $25 Target gift cards, two students earned $50 Target gift cards, and our grand prize winner, Faith S., earned a camping package that included a tent, air mattress and sleeping bag!

Six of our classes will also be earning a pizza party in May because 100% of the members read at least one book.

About 110 of our students earned awesome Liberty t-shirts.

Thirty-three students extended the challenge and wrote an essay, which has earned them a field trip (and more prizes!) to LPI in May.

We are so thankful that LPI has partnered with our sixth grade for this challenge for so many years and we love that it allows us a chance to read some great literature about our environment and what we can do to keep it strong.
