Month of the Military Child 2018

April is designated as the Month of the Military Child; a time to honor the sacrifices made by military families worldwide, with an emphasis on the experience of the dependent children of military members serving at home and overseas.   The Becker School District along with Beyond the Yellow Ribbon would like to honor our military families by celebrating Purple Up! Day on April 16, 2018.  Beyond the Yellow Ribbon (BTYR) is a comprehension program that creates awareness for the purpose of connecting services members and their families with community support, training, services, and resources within the Becker Community.

Purple Up! For Military Families

“Purple Up! For Military families” is a day for communities to wear purple to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices. Wearing purple is a visible way to show support and thank military youth for their strength and sacrifices. Purple indicates that all branches of the military are supported; Air Force blue, Army green, Navy blue, Marine red, and Coast Guard blue all thought to combine together as a single color, purple.

The Becker School District will be celebrating PURPLE UP! Day on Monday, April 16th.  Please wear purple this day!

Thank you for supporting our military families!
