Fall Activity Information

Hello:
The registration link for Fall Activities is now available.  Please click on the following link to register https://lobby.wordwareinc.com/#. The login information you use should not have changed from last year (it is also the same as your login for food service).  To register for activities you will have to click on the soccer ball and follow the prompts.  If you would like to pay for registration with cash or check you will need to visit the Activities Office before practices start.


The Activities Office hours will be as follows for the month of August.
August 6th-8th: 8:00a.m.-1:00p.m.
August 12th-15th: 8:00a.m.-1:00p.m.
August 20th-22nd: 8:00a.m.-1:00p.m.
August 27th-29th: 8:00a.m.-1:00p.m.

Also a note, the Activities Office has moved.  We are now located in the former High School Counseling Office.  To get to our office, you should still enter the High School through Door #11, walk down the hallway past the High School Offices on the right and take a left at the end of the hallway, we are the second to last door on the right (next to the link to the fieldhouse).

Start Dates:
Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country Grades 7-12:
Starts Monday August 12th and practices run from 7:30am to 9:30am before school starts and once school starts we will practice from 3-5:00pm.  All runners should meet at the field house lobby each day.

Girls’ Soccer (corrected info from email that was sent out on 7/15):
Grades 9-12: August 12-23 (1st 2 weeks) will practice 8:00-11:30a.m.  During the 1st week of practice they will practice at the BAC.

Grades 7-8: Practices on Monday, August 26th and Wednesday, August 28th from 6:00-8:00p.m. at the BAC, and then once school starts they will practice after school until 5:00p.m. at the BAC.

Boys’ Soccer:
Grades 9-12: start on Monday, August 12th will practice from 9-11:00a.m.  Meet on the varsity soccer fields.

Football:
Grades 10-12: Practices start on Monday, August 12th from 9-11am and then again from 6-8pm.  Camp opportunities and a letter from Coach Lundeen are attached to this email.

9th grade: Practice will begin on August 12th 8:00am-11:00am.

Grades 7 & 8: will begin with equipment handout on Monday, August 26th.  8th grade will get their equipment from 3:10-4:00 and then 7th grade will follow from 4:00-5:00.  They will then practice on Tuesday, August 27th and Wednesday, August 28th from 3:00-5:00pm.  Once school resumes they will practice from 3:00-5:00pm.

Volleyball:
Grades 9-12: Practices begin Monday, August 12th at 9am - High School gym

Girls’ Swimming and Diving Grades 7-12:
Starts Monday, August 12th from 8am-11am Monday through Friday the first two weeks and information beyond that date will be given out later the first week of practice.  Please have practice clothes for both the pool and dry land conditioning.

Other Important Information:
Activity fees will be $170.00 (HS) and $135.00 (MS) for athletics and $95.00 (HS) and $85.00 (MS) for arts and other activities.  If you absolutely do not want pay online, you can still pay by check or cash in the activities office, but ALL of the forms still need to be filled out online and registration will not be complete until the fee is paid.  There will be a family cap of $700.00 for the year.

A REMINDER: all new 7th graders need to receive a MSHSL Sports Qualifying Physical from their physician before they will be allowed to participate in MSHSL sponsored Athletics.  Physicals are only good for three years, so 10th graders and other whose physical has expired will need to have another physical done in order to participate as well.  If you have any questions about whether or not your son or daughter’s physical is current please contact the activities office.  Appropriate physical forms can be downloaded at

A hard copy of the current sports qualifying physical still needs to be turned into the Activities Office before participation in activities will be allowed.

Athletic Schedules WILL be available online at www.mississippi8.org We are transitioning to a new conference this year and are waiting for the people at Rschools to update the Mississippi8 Conference website which should also be done very soon.  Once everything is good to go, we will be sending out another email.

There will be a Fall Sports Registration Meeting on Tuesday, August 13th at 6:30p.m. All parents please go to the gym for a short large group meeting with Mr. Niemi and then there will be break off meetings for individual sports following.  We encourage all fall participants and parents to attend.
