7/8 Football and Volleyball Information:

posted Sep 25, 2020, 1:04 PM by Jesse Oneill

Hello from the Becker Activities Office:

The determination has been made by the Activities Office and other local schools to offer an opportunity for 7th and 8th graders to play football and volleyball this fall.  These seasons will begin on Monday, October 5th and tentatively run for 6 or 7 weeks.  There are still a lot of things that remain uncertain, (which schools we will play, how games will look, a game schedule, etc.) but we are going to do our best to give our 7th and 8th graders a chance to practice, learn, and compete in volleyball and football yet this year.

Please make sure you go to https://lobby.wordwareinc.com/ to get your son/daughter registered before the first day of practice (10-5).  Your student athlete’s MSHSL Sports Qualifying Physical needs to be turned into the Activities Office (this mainly pertains to 7th graders since 8th graders should have taken care of this last year) before athletes will be able to participate in their chosen activity.

Your patience is appreciated during this time as we navigate how all of this is going to look. Please know we are going to do our very best to make this experience is as enjoyable as possible for all.

MSHSL Reinstates Fall Football and Volleyball for grades 9-12

posted Sep 23, 2020, 1:42 PM by Jesse Oneill

With the reinstatement of Fall Football and Volleyball for grades 9-12 we now need students who are planning on playing in the competitive season starting Monday, September 28th to register for the “official” season.  Many of you have already registered for the “training session,” but this is in addition to the training session.  You will need to go to https://lobby.wordwareinc.com/, just as you did previous, and now register for 2021-Football-B912 or 2021-Volleyball-G912 (depending on your sport).  Then you will need to fill out the online forms again, and then pay the fee of $170.

We realize that this decision by the MSHSL to start so quickly does not leave a lot of time for you to get registered, but we really need you to do this as soon as possible, in order to make sure your student will be allowed to practice and play games.

***A reminder to check to see if your student athlete has a current physical on file, if you are not sure please contact the activities office.

Thank you for your attention to this time sensitive manner.

We are still working on a plan for grades 7 and 8 and once that plan is in order we will communicate that information to parents.

Fall Drama Update:

posted Sep 8, 2020, 1:52 PM by Jesse Oneill

This year the Activities Office, along with the BHS Drama Department, has decided to postpone the High School Musical until the spring.  However we really want to offer an opportunity for our kids to be active in drama this fall.  The drama department has decided to have a Fall Play this year, 10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse.  Auditions will take place after school on September 9th and 10th

In order to follow social distancing guidelines and maintain a safe practice environment the plan is to practice Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays outside behind the PAC as much as possible, making adjustments if needed due to weather.

Performances for the Fall Play will be held October 8-10th at 7:00pm, and with an additional performance on October 11th at 7:00pm if weather is an issue for any performance.  An outdoor stage will be created behind the PAC for the performances again allowing us to follow social distancing guidelines.
